Does the type golf ball you play really matter?

Does the golf ball you play really matter? Virtually everyone says "Yes" and the mental aspect of the game would support the importance of playing a ball in which you have confidence but........
For most of us, the most important thing about the golf ball is that it is findable after the shot!
Sure, sure, seeing the ball compress on your personal high speed camera and watching it spin back 15 ft when it hits the green just above the flag is great but let's face it, that is not what is important to most of us.
I like a ball that has a good feel and I have definitely hit some that felt like a frozen stone but in most cases, with our swing speed, paying $3 a ball is just money down the drain.
I recently found Vice Golf Balls online. Steve Patterson was playing them and let me try a sleeve. I ended up getting their lowest end model (the Drive) for $10.95 a dozen. They came in two days from Germany! They feel great and have performed well so far. Vice has a Tour ($15.95/dozen) and a Pro ($24.95/dozen). They claim the Pro is like a Pro-V1 and after playing it a few times, I can't dispute the claim.
The only catch that I can see is that to get the super low price, you have to order 5 dozen. Worst case scenario is that you have five dozen good golf balls for 1/2 the price you would pay anywhere. Best case, you finally found the ball you like and can still afford to buy your buddies a frosty beverage after the round!
